A mile in my shoes – The Empathy Museum

A mile in my shoes is a touring exhibition hosted in a temporary building created to look like a giant shoe box, invites its visitors to be fitted for a pair of shoes and take a walk outside while listening to a pre-recorded audio about the person the shoes belong to. Based in London, the Empathy Museum is billed as a traveling experimental museum which offers visitors an opportunity to foster a feeling of empathy. he Museum describes its work as a series of ‘participatory art projects dedicated to helping us look at the world through other people’s eyes’. Their various installations and project frequently use a mix of physical objects and digital provision (typically audio, podcasts and photography) to create experiences for their visitors.
